SEO Agency - Web 3.0

The semantic web is one of the most talked about topics in many SEO agencies; it is something that is happening now and is an important development for many people offering SEO services. The semantic web will enable search engines to provide users with results more relevant and specific than ever before.

The semantic web will be able to look at a web page and actually understand the meaning behind the text. Not only this it will be able to relate content elsewhere and connect it far more efficiently. This is in contrast to how the web largely works now, which is basically scanning content on a page and picking up certain keywords or other clues.

For example the semantic web will be able to look at the sentence "I love SEO" and determine that the content of the sentence relates to talking about SEO and why I like SEO. What the semantic web is really about is improving the way computers communicate with each other over the Internet. At the moment information is exchanged by computers, but isn't really understood. The semantic web will allow computers to communicate information and understand the meaning of the content effectively putting it in the proper context.

The Internet in its current form is a massive data warehouse where items of information can be stored and retrieved. However, things are changing, technology does exist which is making the semantic web happen. Micro formats and RDFA are used to embed into HTML and provide semantic communication. For more information on the semantic web and how it works please visit Micro Formats and RDFA.

Here's an interesting video of Tim Berners Lee the inventor of the Internet talking about the semantic web.
