If you are an SEO agency you are going to like the recent findings from the UK Search Engine Optimisation Benchmarking Report. The report found that 55% of companies will increase spend on seo this year. 45% of those surveyed will spend more on ppc services. The reason behind this is because an internet advertising agency can clearly represent the return on investment from search activity.
At a time when budgets are being cut it is good to see that companies can see the value that a good seo agency can bring. Search either natural or PPC is measurable and can therefore be tracked to the return on investment made.
The report also revealed interesting findings around mobile search. Just 5% of companies surveyed are investing in mobile search. However 23% are planning to invest this year. This is down to the sudden surge of 3G phones on the market. More people are accessing the mobile web and one day mobile search will be HUGE!
The survey highlights that a lot of firms still don't believe in mobile search with 37% claiming it is not on their radar yet and 32% have no plans to use it. I predict that this figure will gradually come down over the next few years. Even though the survey shows a lot of firms are not interested in mobile search it is important that an SEO agency keep their eye on the ball and wait for a time when it becomes the norm.
