As a full service internet advertising agency we are always interested in new Google tools. Google Analytics beta Intelligence module is a welcomed new addition, below I have briefly outlined its purpose and how it can be used.
It allows Google Analytics users to identify trends and look at changes in website traffic and revenue. As a result is makes gaining insights easier. The interface is easy on the eye as is Analytics in general and you can view information in graph and table form.
From this module you can set up Custom Alerts. These alerts are emailed and notify you of sudden changes in traffic, bounce rates and page views etc, within the interface these are blue in colour and can be compared to Automatic Alerts which are green.
Automatic alerts enable you to measure, for example, drops and increases in goal revenue. You can create segments which will help you identify possible high converting areas. This is especially useful for webmasters and search engine optimizers who wish to track changes in traffic of pages they have changed. Intelligence is a new tool and doesn't measure in real time, which in my opinion is a bit of drawback. However, it is still useful and easy to use.
